Ambassador Ghafoorzai met with Danish Ambassador to Afghanistan, Nathalia Feinberg.
On April 12th, 2021, Ambassador Ghafoorzai met virtually with Danish Ambassador to Afghanistan, Nathalia Feinberg.
Ambassador Ghafoorzai congratulated Ms. Feinberg on her new appointment to the Danish Embassy in Kabul and highlighted that the Afghan Embassy in Oslo is looking forward to working closely with colleagues in Copenhagen and Kabul on the enhancing bilateral relationship and between Denmark and Afghanistan.
The two Ambassadors discussed the bilateral collaboration between Afghanistan and Denmark, Denmark’s engagement in Afghanistan, the Afghan peace process and the start of inter-parliamentary cooperation between women parliamentarians of both countries.
Ambassador Ghafoorzai gave an overview of the government’s three-pillared road-map for peace. He hailed Denmark’s contributions to Afghanistan during the past decades, which have been a key factor in many positive changes in the country.
Denmark’s important contribution in different fields, included support in the areas of democracy, development, governance, human rights and empowerment of civil society. In that regard, he highlighted the important role of civil society, women and youth groups, victims of conflict in the peace process in order to reach a successful outcome.
The two Ambassadors also discussed the renewal of the Afghanistan-Denmark Strategic Partnership Agreement (SPA) in the near future and committed to maintain close collaboration on the development of initiatives between the two countries.
