Ambassador Barakzai meets the Norwegian Red Cross new country manager

H.E. Shukria Barakzai and Counselor Mr. Abdul Hadef met last week with Norwegian Red Cross Asia Regional Representative Ms. Astrid E. Sletten. Ms. Sletten officially introduced to Ambassador Barakzai, Norwegian Red Cross new country manager for Afghanistan, Mr. Stefan Kuhne-Hellmessen.

The Norwegian Red Cross is expanding its cooperation in Afghanistan to respond to humanitarian needs in hard to access areas, focusing on emergency health, medical logistics and organizational development. Mr. Kuhne-Hellmessen has previously been working in Asia as part of the Red Cross relief Operation and Tsunami recovery operation in Thailand.

During the meeting, the conversation focused on the current situation in Afghanistan and the safety concerns for internation/local NGOs working in Afghanistan.
